Gidon Kremer's collaboration with Arvo Pärt goes back several decades. Pärt himself speaks of a special connection, mutual admiration, and how Kremer would ultimately influence his work for violin. Kremer returns to LEFFEST with the GGG Trio for a concert at Culturgest celebrating Pärt's musical genius. He is accompanied by cellist Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė and pianist Georgijs Osokins, who has also just released an album with works by the Estonian composer, in a programme in which they will perform several works by Pärt and which will bring us some surprises.
In the first part of this concert, pianist Alain Planès will perform works by Maurice Ravel (celebrating the 150th anniversary of his birth this year) and Eric Satie (marking the 100th anniversary of his death).
