The NOS Best Film Award goes to Mohammad Rasoulof’s masterful The Seed of The Sacred Fig. The Jury found that “the powerful and previously unseen documentary footage, mixed with the riveting fictional story of one family’s complete implosion, was innovative and utterly compelling. In addition the Jury considered that the perilous circumstances under which this film was created, the breathtaking performances of the outstanding cast, and the sheer human courage involved in bringing this story to the world, all contributed to creating a coherent and well paced work that is the worthy recipient of this Award.”
