Tiago Guedes Retrospective

With agility and intelligence, Tiago Guedes (b. 1971) moves between cinema, theater, and television. He gained significant international prominence with The Domain — a film that was selected for the Official Competition at the Venice Film Festival and went on to become Portugal’s entry for the Oscar for Best International Feature Film, following numerous accolades both at home and abroad. Remains of the Wind (2022) also held its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, and in 2026, the director returned to the same festival with Aquí, an adaptation of J.M. Coetzee’s Jesus trilogy, presented in the Cannes Première section. This film is one of the most notable screenings at this edition of LEFFEST, a work of absolute fascination and creative maturity.
