Special Jury Award

The Special Jury Award for Best Female Performance was awarded to the Actress Ensemble in Vermiglio, by Maura Delpero: Martina Scrinzi, Roberta Rovelli, Carlotta Gamba, Rachele Potrich, Anna Thaler, Orietta Notari, and Sara Serraiocco.

Vermiglio tells of a world far away in space, the mountains of Trentino, at the northern border of Italy, and in time, a Second World War that still seems like the first, so much the evolution of society is suspended between those distant peaks. But from this distance the film speaks to us from close, because Maura Delpero makes the nucleus of women of whom the film is about an existential tangle that becomes more and more increasingly gripping. These women, young, old and some children, speak to us so closely that they almost whisper in our ears, and tell us about their feelings, aspirations, disillusions, rebellions that are still alive today. The jury therefore wished to award this prize to the entire female cast led by Maura Delpero, starting with Martina Scrinzi and Roberta Rovelli whose sensibilities illuminate the story, to Carlotta Gamba, to little Rachele Potrich and Anna Thaler, to Orietta Notari, and finally to Sara Serraiocco.” —- Jury Statement.

The Special Jury Award for Best Male Performance was awarded to actor Karim Leklou for his role in Le Roman de Jim, by Arnaud Larrieu and Jean-Marie Larrieu.

"The Jury wishes to award a Special Prize for Best Male Performance to Karim Leklou for his ability to bring to life a fragile and kind-hearted character over the years, embodying the soul and humanistic grace of the entire film Le Roman de Jim, by the Larrieu brothers.” —- Jury Statement.
