An Argentinian writer, theatre, and film director, Lola Arias began her career at the University of Buenos Aires, earning a degree in literature. She later specialised in dramaturgy at the Buenos Aires School of the Arts. Today, she boasts an extensive oeuvre notable for its diversity, spanning various artistic fields such as theatre, cinema, literature, music, and the visual arts. At the heart of her projects lies a persistent interest in portraying marginalised groups, giving them a voice and fostering discussions that challenge the status quo. Her latest film, Reas (2024), won the Sebastiane Award at the San Sebastián Film Festival and was shown in the Forum section at the Berlin Film Festival.
