Carminho is a Portuguese fado singer, and one of the voices of her generation.
She studied Marketing and Publicity, and after realizing she was still lacking the maturity to sing, decided to travel the world for one year. After that, she returned to Lisbon and started her artistic journey.
“Fado”, her debut album, was released in 2009, becoming one of the most acclaimed records of the year, and of the decade. In the same year, she recorded a duet with Pablo Alborán, “Perdoname”, becoming the first Portuguese artist to have reach the number 1 on the spanish charts.
In 2012, her second album, “ALMA”, premiered in number one in Portugal. At the end of 2014, she edited “Canto”.
Carminho will be present in LEFFEST, Saturday the 24th, at 21:00, in Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, for a conversation with João Botelho and fados, upon the exhibition of the film Carminho no Lux.
