Vera Drake

London, the year 1950. Vera Drake lives with her husband and children. But Vera has a parallel life that she keeps as a secret and hides from everyone. Despite being illegal, Vera helps women to interrupt unwanted pregnancies. Vera always has a smile and a word of understanding for these women, whom she helps without any kind of compensation. However, one of the abortions goes wrong and it leads its investigation to Vera. From then on, her life and her family collapses.
