In Lisbon, on a winter day in 1994, between 6am and 2pm, a 40 year old woman despairs, six hours upon the birth of her child, for being as old as she is and still not knowing a thing about having children. From laughter to tears, her partner/ friend/ lover, a much younger man, tells her tragic, funny, chaotic and hallucinated stories to relieve her pain. On the precise moment a character’s corpse is taken from the river, a newborn cries the first and thrilling sounds of his life. In Lisbon, mornings are like this.
