Carter Page III, an escort for the wives of some of the most powerful men in Washington, D.C., is also their friend and confidant, and he entertains the ladies at weekly canasta games. When his closest friend, Lynn, discovers her lover stabbed to death, Carter offers to shield her from scandal by reporting the crime himself. He becomes a suspect and, aided by his lover Emek, must turn amateur detective to protect Lynn and himself.
