Photographs by Marie-Laure de Decker and Noël Quidu
On one side, there is blood, fire, weapons, and the violent explosion of colours. On the other, faces, emotions, lives, and the black and white that illuminates the souls of those photographed. This exhibition aims to highlight the dual nature of war: the terror experienced and the horror endured by those who live it. Through the photographs of Noël Quidu and Marie-Laure de Decker, we are transported to the most significant conflicts of recent decades.
Born from a long friendship and mutual admiration, the exhibition War and Peace was conceived by Noël Quidu and Marie-Laure de Decker many years ago but had never been realised. Now, following Decker's death in 2023, the exhibition has come to life through the efforts of Noël Quidu and Pablo Saavedra, Marie-Laure's son.
