For the past couple of years, celebrated Chinese filmmaker Wong Kar Wai has been working on restoring his complete filmography so that his films can, once more, be shown in the irreplaceable atmosphere of film theatres. For this year’s 20th anniversary of In The Mood For Love, five of his most emblematic works have been finalised and are now ready to be screened in their new 4K resolution. Following a complete retrospective of his work in the 7th edition of LEFFEST back in 2013, we now present you with first-hand screenings of this notable work of restoration.

Incomparable cinema auteur, unconditional lover of Hong Kong, maestro of the nocturnal lights and shadows which envelop his melancholic characters, lost in atmospheres of seduction, Wong  Kar Wai is one of the greatest contemporary filmmakers of our time. In this retrospective, we set out to rediscover key works of Asian cinema, born out of an intimate and personal observation, sensitive to the cycles of time, of the matches and mismatches of life and the interlacing of past and future.
