This year, the festival has organized a section devoted to success stories in the field of film production and distribution.
The two films that will be displayed – Midnight in Paris and Amour – are part of the long list of titles (over 150), produced or distributed by Barker, that received Oscar nominations. Midnight in Paris won, in 2011, the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and Amour, in 2012, the Oscar for Best Foreign Picture. They were both nominated for Best Picture and other categories.
Michael Barker has
enabled and released extremely high-quality independent films that became
internationally successful, through a producer as large as Sony Pictures
Classics. This path will be discussed at the LEFFEST.
