The object of one of cinema’s most unforgettable lines, Nicoletta Braschi is Roberto Benigni’s eternal lover, onscreen and offscreen. The Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival pays homage to the Italian actress, screening three of the Benigni pictures in which she stars: the paradigmatic Life is Beautiful, and two films that preceded it: The Little Devil and The Monster.

“Nicoletta Braschi, the angelical woman, the femme fatale, the charming devil, Madonna and above all, principessa, that came to Earth to shake it and give it new colours.” (Cristina Borsatti, in Roberto Benigni, 2001, Ed. II Castoro)
