Thomas Vinterberg is a Danish director associated with the Dogme 95 movement, which he co-founded with Lars von Trier. This movement established rules aimed at simplifying the process of cinematographic creation, returning to the fundamentals of more realistic cinema. This was achieved by focusing on elements such as the story and performances while moving away from technology and special effects. Born in 1969, he graduated from the National Film School of Denmark. With his graduation project, a short film entitled Last Round, he received his first awards: the Jury and Producers' Award at the Filmschoolfest Munich and the First Prize at the Tel Aviv Film Festival. He made history as the first Danish director nominated for the Oscar for Best Director with his 2020 film, Another Round, which won the Oscar for Best International Feature Film.
