Khaled Jarada was born in 1996, in Gaza. He graduated in Multimedia from the University of Palestine and is currently living in France, in the city of Metz. He is an independent visual artist and children’s books’ illustrator, one of them translated into Portuguese (Ant in My Computer, 2018). He has also worked as an animator and teacher of performative arts. Jarada’s work uses drawing and animation to explore questions of identity, memory and the human body, which are joined by an interest in humanitarian issues. He has participated in several local and international exhibitions and organized contemporary art workshops as part of his activism. In 2024, he was selected for the Mentorship Program of Festival Ciné-Palestine and held his first solo exhibition, Non Key Frame, in the Fann-À-Porter Gallery in Dubai, in which he explores the discomfort of in-betweenness as he himself became out of place in exile.
