Director, screenwriter

Born in Portugal in the aftermath of the 1974 revolution to a family of actors, Ivo M. Ferreira has always been immersed in theatre and cinema. He began his technical and artistic training in Lisbon at the Escola Secundária Artística António Arroio, before studying at the London International Film School. He then continued his studies at the University of Budapest but left early, ultimately arriving in Macau, a place that would profoundly influence his personal and professional life, where he directed and produced his first documentary film. There, he worked as a photographer, director, actor, producer, and lighting designer. In addition to short films and documentaries, his first two feature-length fiction films were presented at international festivals. Letters of War (2016), his third feature film, premiered in the Official Competition at the Berlin Film Festival. More recently, he directed the RTP Sul series (2019), which achieved great success.
