Born in the Azores in 1975, Felipe Oliveira Baptista left Portugal at the age of 18 to study Fashion Design at Kingston University, in London. After graduating, he was involved in projects with Max Mara, Christophe Lemaire and Cerruti. In 2003, together with his wife, Séverine Oliveira Baptista, the couple created a brand and Baptista became an artistic director who mixed contemporary design with artistic expression. In 2002, he was internationally acclaimed, receiving the Grand Prize at the Hyères International Festival and, in 2003 and 2005, the ANDAM/LVMH Fashion Award.
For many years Baptista lived and worked in Paris, having debuted his work at Paris Fashion Week in 2009. He worked as creative director for the brands Lacoste (2010-2018) and Kenzo (2019-2021). After 30 years away, he decided to return to Lisbon and explore other artistic areas, such as visual arts and photography.
