Catarina Wallenstein is a Portuguese actress, born in 1986. Having previously taken part in theater plays, her television debut happened in 2004 with the mini-series Só Gosto de Ti and, a year later, her film debut would happen with Miguel Martí’s Fin de Curso. After graduating from the Lisbon Theater and Film School in 2008, she began studying at the Conservatory in Paris. Wallenstein has, ever since, participated in tv series such as A Vida Privada de Salazar (2009), and Destino Imortal (2010), and various feature films such as Um Amor de Perdição, by Mário Barroso (2008), Singularidades de Uma Rapariga Loura by Manoel de Oliveira (2009), for which she was awarded the Portuguese Golden Globe for Best Actress, Mistérios de Lisboa by Raúl Ruiz (2010), A Gaiola Dourada by Ruben Alves (2013), Raiva by Sérgio Tréfaut (2018), and several works by emblematic filmmaker João Botelho. In 2019, she co-directed her first film, Tragam-me a cabeça de Carmen M, with Felipe Bragança.
