Carlos Maria Trindade

Musician, musical producer

Carlos Maria Trindade was born in Lisbon in 1954. He joined the Music School of the National Conservatory, where he completed courses in solfeggio, harmony, counterpoint, and piano. In 1980, he founded the group Heróis do Mar with Pedro Ayres Magalhães and Paulo Pedro Gonçalves, dedicating himself to record production and working with notable artists such as António Variações, Delfins, and Xutos e Pontapés. In 1991, he released his first solo album, Mr. Wollogallu. Three years later, he joined the group Madredeus. In 2018 and 2019, respectively, he composed the soundtracks for two documentaries: 2077 – 10 Segundos para o Futuro and Deus Cérebro, both produced by RTP. In 2023, he premiered the concert Vitral Submerso. His works blend electronic and acoustic sounds, and Carlos Maria Trindade is considered a pioneering figure in the production and experimentation of electronic music.
