Born in 1987, Arthur Hornig began playing the cello at the age of five. A soloist with numerous orchestras, Hornig is a regular guest at chamber music festivals around the world, both as an instrumentalist and educator, and has received several prizes for his musical achievements. Since 2011, he has served as the 1st Principal Cellist of the orchestra at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and since 2018, he has been the Principal Cellist of the Bayreuth Wagner Festival Orchestra under the baton of Christian Thielemann. He performed with the NeuKlang trio for over a decade.
