He also served as cultural attaché at the Portuguese Embassy in Vienna from 1974 to 1981. His career has been characterised by transdisciplinarity, with works as a director, screenwriter, and author of various fiction books and other genres. With a vast body of work that encompasses numerous musical genres, extending from chamber music to fado, d'Almeida has always prioritised his musical endeavours and considers himself first and foremost a composer.
