A multi-award-winning violinist, Ana Pereira studied at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra, graduating with top marks. She won the 1st Superior Level Prize at the Young Musicians Award (2006) and the 1st International Young Violinists Prize ‘Paganini's Heritage’ (2011). She regularly performs with the country’s leading orchestras, having appeared as a soloist with the Orquestra Gulbenkian, the Orquestra Académica Metropolitana, the Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa, the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, the Orquestra do Algarve, the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, and the Joensuun Kaupunginorkesteri in Finland. Ana serves as concertmaster of the Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa and is a founding member of the Alma Mater string chamber ensemble. Since June 2015, she has held the position of Concertmaster of the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, a role she has occupied since joining the orchestra in 2008. She has also been on the teaching staff of the Metropolitana Schools since 2009.
