Adolfo Luxúria Canibal is the artistic pseudonym of Adolfo Morais de Macedo, born in Luanda, Angola. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Universidade de Lisboa, practiced Law in Lisbon up until 1999 and is now a legal consultant at Instituto da Conservação da Natureza.
He has been a musician since 1981, having founded, composed, and sang lead for bands Auaufeiomau (1981-1984) and Mão Morta (1984-). He has recorded 9 albums with the latter, among which the successful Mutantes S.21 (1992) and Primavera de Destroços (2001).
He has also designed several multimedia shows and participated as an actor in a television series. In addition to this, Adolfo has worked as a columnist for several newspapers and radio stations, published two of his own books - Rock n’ Roll and Estilhaços, and translated authors such as Heiner Müller and Vladimir Maiakovski. He has also participated as either guest singer or lyricist in several different records and shows by over a dozen national and foreign acts, such as Pop Dell’Arte, Clã, Moonspell, WrayGunn, Houdini Blues, Pat Kay & The Gajos and Steve MacKay.
