1945, Leningrad. The second world war has devastated the city, demolishing its buildings and leaving its citizens in tatters, both physically and mentally. One of the most destructive sieges of modern history has just ended, and the living must relearn to live. The film thus follows the track of two young women in search for meaning and hope while struggling to rebuild their lives amongst the ruins.
