Mexico, 1949. Coral Fabre, a single mother, is a frustrated young nurse. Obsessed with French actor Charles Boyer, she falls for his doppelgänger Nicolás, after her coworkers stage a meeting. Nicolás in turn makes a living out of fooling women, but she abandons her children and follows him anyway. Together they will scheme to swindle and murder women who look for love writing letters to a sentimental courier.
