Super Happy Forever

A dialogue between past and present, this is a story of love, loss, and nostalgia. Accompanied by his best friend Miyata, Sanu returns to the coastal town of Izu, a Japanese seaside resort, where, five years earlier, he fell in love with his late wife, Nagi. Now deceased, Nagi's absence weighs heavily on Sanu, and the trip is part of his attempt to find closure and alleviate the pain of her loss. The memories of what could have been a beautiful love story intensify Sanu's grief, imbuing the film with a melancholic joy. This is achieved through the light dynamic between the two lovers, contrasted with the sorrow of absence.
