Isabel Lopes Gomes

Isabel Lopes Gomes was born in 1976 in Avignon. She makes documentaries about artists and has already completed the following: Arte Vida / Vida Arte - a film about Alberto Carneiro; Spiritual Exercises - a film about Bosco Sodi; and Rua José Escada - a film about José Escada. The most recent is the documentary Pintar a Ideia, dedicated to the work of Manuel Casimiro. She was assistant curator at the exhibition Entre as Margens at the Soares dos Reis National Museum in 2013 and in 2016 at the inaugural exhibition of the Nadir Afonso Museum of Contemporary Art. She curated the exhibition Da história das imagens a partir do fotográfico na obra de Manuel Casimiro, which opened at the Arpad Szenes-Vieira da Silva Foundation in January 2019.
