In 1993, between a stroll through Central Park, some last minute shopping and a visit to the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, a family like many others prepares to celebrate Christmas. She is Puerto-Rican, he is Dominican, and they came to the mainland to pursue the American dream the only way they know how: drug trafficking, which they carry out with a businesslike detachment. The work is hard, rife with gangs and both territorial and racial restrictions. During a “business meeting”, the husband is kidnapped by a rival gang. His wife searches for every one of her husband’s partners, employees and debtors, but it is Christmas and everyone is out of town. The gangster puts more and more pressure on her, and a strange relationship blossoms between the two.
