Fixed Bayonets!

After The Steel Helmet, 20th Century-Fox was so impressed with Samuel Fuller's work that they asked him to direct another film about the Korean War. Thus, Fixed Bayonets! marks the director's second film about this subject. In both films, Fuller channels elements of his own military experience in World War II. This film takes place during the Chinese intervention in the Korean War and tells the story of an army corporal, Denno, who has to take command of his platoon when all his superiors die. Additionally, the film includes James Dean's first filmic appearance.
