After the Iranian Revolution, thousands of films were burned and destroyed. Over the years, a man rescues all the films he can and keeps them in his basement. His love of cinema brings him together with a boy, who becomes his accomplice, in a revolutionary salute to all those who share this passion. A sensitive and poetic autobiographical film, Celluloid Underground reflects director Ehsan Khoshbakht's intense relationship with cinema, inspiring us to reflect on the emancipatory power of the cinematic image.
