In 2020, a filmmaker revisits footage from an unfinished project filmed ten years earlier. His desire to complete this personal film prompts him to reunite with his former crew and cast. However, just as they manage to gather in Wuhan, the COVID-19 pandemic breaks out, and the subsequent lockdown prevents them from continuing the shoot. The film blends various types of footage, incorporating behind-the-scenes and unused material from Lou Ye’s previous work, resulting in a distinctive documentary style. It captures the essence of confinement—lives in suspension, communicating solely through screens, and affected by a persistent state of impermanence.
