AWARD CEREMONY
Two major music figures, the pianists Martha Argerich and Stephen Kovacevich, return to the festival, now, as members of the jury of the section In Competition. On the award ceremony in TNDMII, we will have the opportunity to hear them live: PIECE FOR TWO PIANOS. AND A CONVERSATION…

A brilliant Argentinian pianist endowed with great technical mastery and a charismatic interpretative personality, Martha Argerich is unanimously considered by her peers to be the best pianist in the world. Famous for interpreting pieces from the great piano repertoire (Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt, Debussy, Ravel, Bartók, Prokofiev), having worked as a soloist with the most famous maestros and orchestras.

Stephen Kovacevich is one of the most famous pianists and conductors in the world. Born in Los Angeles, Kovacevich made his debut performance in San Francisco aged 11, and at 18 moved to England to study under the wing of Myra Hess. After a sensational European premiere in London, he began a long and distinguished international career as a soloist, playing with the most prestigious orchestras and maestros and gaining renown for his performances of Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and Schubert. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with artists such as Jacqueline du Pré and Martha Argerich. A fearless performer, he often takes daring risks, both technical and musical, to get the most out of each of his performances.
