The exhibition dwelves into the world of Khaled Jarada, showcasing a selection of his most significant works expressed through a combination of traditional drawing, digital art, and animation. It includes a series of drawings paired with poems by Hani Al Barie, created during the pandemic. These pieces reflect Gaza’s unique border experience, where the city, under Israeli occupation, became an open-air prison—yet saw its borders open while much of the world was closing theirs. Also featured are digital paintings from his “Recovery” series, made while waiting at Gaza’s borders to travel, self-portraits from “Non-Key Frame” exhibited in Fann À Porter gallery, and oneiric comic animations, all exploring the discomfort of in-betweenness as he himself became out of place in exile.
