The International Meeting of Film Schools brings together students from three film schools, one Portuguese and two international: ESTC (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema), Belgium’s INSAS (Institut Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle et des Techniques de Diffusion), and ENAC (Escuela Nacional de Artes Cinematográficas) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. The event features a competition for short films produced within an academic setting (with the winner receiving the João Milagre Award, named in honor of the former director of ESTC, who passed away this year; the winner will be selected by a jury composed of filmmaker Sérgio Graciano, English actress Lily Cole, and Danish editor Anders Refn), as well as free-to-attend masterclasses that serve as a space for sharing experiences on what it means to “learn cinema today.”
