Rodrigo Areias, director and producer, has a unique career in Portuguese cinema. He founded Bando à Parte, based in Guimarães, boasting a catalog of over a hundred titles, including feature and short fiction films, documentaries and animation shorts, as well as a wide range of co-productions, premiered and awarded by the world’s main film festivals.
As a director, Areias has already surpassed more than two dozen films, including shorts, features and music videos. His pace is dizzying and when he presents a new film, he has another one practically ready and yet another one in progress. LEFFEST organizes a Focus on Rodrigo Areias as a kind of “freeze frame”, showing his unique work as a director and producer.
