This programme presents a clipping of contemporary film production that intends to illustrate the variety of geographies, perspectives and careers of little-known directors to the Portuguese public. This year, the LEFFEST present three authors from three different continents, connected by the singularity of their perspectives.
One of the active participants of the independent New York scene that began in Manhattan in the 70s, Sara Driver, director, actress and producer, has produced some of Jim Jarmusch’s films.
Among many other projects, the first film adaptation of author Paul Bowles’ work was hers. She is currently working on a film about artist Basquiat, which she will present at the festival as a “work in progress”.
