On Friday, 23 October, at 12 p.m, a press conference will be held at Lisbon City Hall to unveil details of the 20th edition of LEFFEST – Lisboa Film Festival.
Over the past two decades, LEFFEST has established itself as a space for reflection and critical thought, a place to observe the world and question the present, fostering encounters between filmmakers, artists and audiences, and bringing cinema into dialogue with other artistic disciplines. Since its earliest editions, the festival has welcomed some of the most influential voices in contemporary cinema and the international arts and cultural scene, developing a programme that seeks to push the boundaries of cinema and open up new possibilities for dialogue and discovery. In 2026, LEFFEST celebrates its 20th edition, renewing its commitment to cinema as a space for thought, exchange and engagement with reality. For the first time, the festival will expand into the eastern part of Lisbon, with Cinema NOS Vasco da Gama joining the list of venues hosting LEFFEST.
On Friday, 23 October, the programme for the 20th edition of LEFFEST will be announced, unveiling the films, filmmakers and events that will shape this year's festival. The press conference will be attended by the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, and the festival's director, Paulo Branco. This year's edition will take place from 6 to 15 November.
The full programme will be available on the festival's official website in the early afternoon of 23 October.
