Filmmaker, Screenwriter and Film Critic

Director and screenwriter, Olivier Assayas is one of the most important authors of the french cinema post-Nouvelle Vague. He was a film critic of Cahiers du Cinéma, where he was part of the editorial team. After a collaboration with André Téchiné, he directed his first movie, Désordre, in 1986 (that won an award at Venice Film Festival). His films, more than thirty, including films and TV shows, have been selected to the major film festivals worldwide and have received numerous awards. Assayas will attend LEFFEST to present his mini-TV show Irma Vep, his most recent work.
