A filmmaker with a track record in film directing and production in Cuba—including award-winning projects at international festivals such as the Goya Awards, Fantasporto Awards, the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival, Panama Film Festival, and Havana Film Festival—he is the founder and Executive Producer of i4films. As a director, he directed the feature film La gente del documental (2022), which won Best Documentary Feature at the Gibara Film Festival, was selected for the Havana Film Festival in New York, and was also a participant in the BJX Bajío International Film Festival.
He has accumulated extensive experience as an international producer, with projects such as El Ciclista, Un Traductor, and O Nosso Cônsul em Havana (the latter directed by Portuguese director Francisco Manso). From Cuba, three feature films stand out that have become landmarks in the worldview of national cinema: Juan de los muertos, a take on horror, a genre little explored on the island, Viva Cuba, and Melaza, films that reveal the complex relationships between politics and everyday life in the country.
He graduated from the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños, where he served as a member of the Academic Council and Deputy Head of the Production Department (2008-2010). He is a graduate of the Artistic-Professional Training Scholarship at Canal Plus Spain (2000-2001), director of the Industry Sector, and member of the Board of Directors of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana (2008-2010).
