Frédéric Bonnaud is the current director of the French Cinematheque. He
began his career as a journalist and radio animator in the magazine Les
Inrockuptibles, which he later managed. He then joined the radio station
France Inter as a film critic and participated in various programs over the
years. Since the creation of the Charivari in 2003, Bonnaud began
conducting his own radio shows in which he led conversations revolving around
the intersection of cinema with the other arts, as well as with philosophical
and political themes, thereby playing a key role in the milieu of french
cinema. In 2015 Bonnaud became the director of the French Cinematheque in
Paris, taking on the role of assuring the preservation of film heritage as well
as its diffusion amongst new audiences.
