A leading figure in world jazz, in 2023 Rodrigo Amado was named best tenor saxophonist by the prestigious international critics’ poll El Intruso, composed of 50 critics and writers from 18 countries, repeating consecutive nominations over the years. He frequently tours Europe and North America with his own groups and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most important improvisers today. He has participated in several editions of LEFFEST in the live film score performance format and returns this year, accompanied by musicians Hernâni Faustino and Rodrigo Pinheiro, for a cine-concert featuring the films The Immigrant (1917) and The Pilgrim (1923), by Charlie Chaplin.
