Director and Screenwriter

Director and screenwriter Radu Jude is one of the greatest Romanian
filmmakers today. He studied filmmaking in Bucharest and started working
as an assistant director for Cristi Puiu. In 2006, he directed the
internationally acclaimed short film The Tube with a Hat. Jude's feature debut The Happiest Girl in the World (2009) was selected for more than 50 international film festivals. In 2016, he made his debut as a theatre director with his stage adaptation of  Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage. He was awarded the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for Aferim! (2015) and the Golden Bear for Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn (2021). His most recent feature Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World (2023) was awarded the Special Jury Prize at Locarno.
