Olga Roriz is one of the most important Portuguese choreographers and dancers. She was part of the cast of Ballet Gulbenkian from 1976 to 1992, where she was principal dancer and principal choreographer. In 1992, she assumed the artistic direction of Companhia de Dança de Lisboa and, in 1995, founded Companhia Olga Roriz, of which she is director and choreographer. In 2004 she was awarded the insignia of the Order of Infante D. Henrique – Grand Officer by the President of the Republic.
