Musician, Composer and Producer

Nitin Sawhney is a British Indian Artist, whose career spans over three decades since he launched his first album Spirit Dance (1993). Raging from collaborations with various artists and orchestras, to live shows, composing soundtracks for film and television, and producing albums, Sawhney's work explores themes such as multiculturalism, migration, politics and spirituality through an intersection of Indian influences and world music with electronica and other musical styles.

His latest album Immigrants (2021), whose Portuguese presentation was held at Centro Cultural de Belém in 2022, is a tribute to all immigrants and children of immigrants, based on his conviction that we all hold the same intrinsic value and are owed the same rights, regardless of where we come from. In 2017, he received the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award.
