Actress and Director

Actress and director Lola Peploe was born in England and studied English and French literature at Oxford University. From there she went to the prestigious Drama Centre London to study theatre. As an actress, she has worked in theatre, television and film. She appeared in Bernardo Bertolucci's The Dreamers (2003), where she was also a production assistant, and in 2006 she played a role in Stephen Frear's award-winning film The Queen. She also had a leading role in Gregorio Graziosi's film Obra (2014). Her first work as a director, the short film No. 27 (2015), was selected for the São Paulo International Short Film Festival and was screened in the Discoveries Section of LEFFEST'16. Grandomother’s Footsteps (2023) is her first feature-length film.
