Co-founder of the production company Alas Film, which develops projects in several countries, from bases in Istanbul, Kyiv, New York, Sofia, Tbilisi, and Porto, Bulgarian Kamen Velkovsky worked as an assistant director to Jim Jarmusch on The Dead Don't Die (2019) and to documentary filmmaker Errol Morris on The Pigeon Tunnel (2023), among other projects, in some cases also producing or co-producing. Examples of this are The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017), by Yorgos Lanthimos, and Jimmy P: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian (2013), by Arnaud Desplechin, the same director of Two Pianos, a film premiering at LEFFEST, which also marks Velkovsky's debut as a co-writer. Both will be present at this edition.
