Filmmaker and Screenwriter

Ilya Povolotsky was born in Russia in 1987. He studied Law before turning to film, but soon after graduation, he started a small production company where his work on independent film projects began. His first short film, Northerners, in 2017, was widely acclaimed, followed by Froth (2019), a feature-length documentary about the daily life of a community on the Barents Sea coast that received several awards and nominations. Grace is his first feature-length fiction film and has been presented at Cannes and San Sebastián.
