A novelist and playwright – one of the most beloved in the Arab world. Her works, which have been translated into many different languages, deal with women’s role in society, marriage, and power relations between genders, without ever resorting to victimization. Her latest project was a “re-imagining” of nineteen tales from A Thousand and One Nights which were adapted into a book and a play.
