Donato Santeramo is the Head of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He also teaches at Università di Roma II and at Middlebury College’s Summer School in Vermont, USA. He has been visiting professor in several universities in North-America and Europe. He has published on XX-Century Italian theatre, film and literature and on semiotics. Santeramo has translated contemporary Italian plays into English and has directed their stagings in Canada and the USA.


 In 2005, he co-edited RED CARS: An original screenplay by David Cronenberg. He also collaborated on an art exhibit entitled Chromosomes by David Cronenberg. Santeramo is presently co-editing Twentieth-Century Italian Filmmakers, which will feature over one hundred Italian film directors. In 2005 he was awarded the Queen’s University Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching.
