Dino D'Santiago, one of the most recognizable names of the music scene in Portugal, presents his last work, “Badiu”, at the Grande Auditório do Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval, in Sintra along with other works, in this year edition of LEFFEST.


He is one of the most famous musicians in Portugal, especially among the youth that welcomes a culture that was, until recently, seen as a marginal one: creole. Son of Cape Verdean parents, Dino S’Santiago was born in Quarteira, Algarve, and was 21 when he was discovered in the TV Show “Operação Triunfo”. After some music experiences, such as Dino & The SoulMotion, Expensive Soul, and Nu Soul Family, he had his solo debut in 2013 with the album “Eva”. After “Unplugged”, in 2016, he participated in the Eurovision Finals in 2018.


With the album “Mundu Nôbu” (2018) Dino D’Santiago found his “signature sound” that mixes Afro-pop with a distinct vision of futuristic funaná and electronic batuku. At the end of 2019, he added to his discography the EP “Sotavento”, and the following year released “Kriola”. His most recent album,“Badiu” (terms that designates the inhabitants of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde) arrived in 2021, and has already secured him two awards this year: Best Male Artist and Critics Award, awarded in the Play - Portuguese Music Awards.


The album includes guest appearances by artists such as Branko and Slow J, among others. The new album, which includes “Lokura” and “Esquinas”, has already been considered one of the best albums of 2021.
